Frequently Asked Questions

NO. We are not open to the public nor do we teach riding  as a sport.  Although riding horses can be enjoyable and therapeutic for both the horse and rider our main focus is proper management and care of horses.

Question 1—Are you an outdoor recreation facility?

Question 2—Are you a non-profit organization?

Question 4—Can we visit the ranch?

Unfortunately all volunteers must be 18 years old and in some cases have horse handling experience due to the nature of some of the horses.  If you are over 18 contact us for a volunteer packet.

Question 6—I’m thinking about buying or adopting a horse but I do not know anything about them.  What should I do?

If you are asking this question, then you have already started the first step.  Ask questions and learn all you can about horses before you purchase or adopt.  Try leasing or share-boarding a horse for about 6 months to see if you can adapt to the every day care of a horse and financially able to do so.  Take courses or even try our equine educational program where you will learn from the ground up about horses.

Question 7—Do you sell horses?

No.  We do not raise or train horses for commercial purposes.  Horses that come into our program are assessed medically and behaviorally, rehabilitated (if needed) and then put up for adoption.  The fee assessed to adopt a horse varies per horse and goes back into the program to help other horses.  Click on our adoption link under services for more information.

Question 8—Are all horses surrendered or rescued or even up for adoption or for sponsor listed on this site?

No.  Not all horses in our program are listed on this site.  Please contact us to make an appointment and we would be more than happy to introduce you to all the horses.
