UPDATE: Champ is
ready for adoption! "He'z A Champ"
was our first rescue and remains at the ranch to date (5/25/2009) to continue
rehabilitating his hoof. It is coming along nicely thanks to our farrier.
Champ was rescued
during the heavy rain & flooding on Oahu on 12/13. Thanks to my rescue
team we were able to get Champ out of
his paddock before the flood & landslide took away his stall and he made it out
with his life.
Champ's assessment has been
completed. Our vet cleared him with a clean bill of health
and Champ is now UTD on all shots and worming. He wll be
gelded by the end of February. He stands for the farrier,
baths and clips. He even loads well in a trailer.
Has gained a lot of weight and is putting weight on his leg.
Champ had a break in the left rear pastern many
years ago, however he uses it just
fine. This is probably one of the best healed pastern
breaks I have ever seen. He will continue to receive
proper corrective trimming over the next 4-6 months to get him
to stand up better on that leg. No signs of discomfort and
he picks up all 4 feet with no problem.
Our trainer has assessed Champ and
it was established that he can be ridden. A child,
teenager or even an adult weighing less than 165 lbs. He
neck reins and has a great whoe. Comfortable using a
grazing bit or snaffle. Very light on the mouth and
collects nicely while ridden. Walking only, no trotting.
Would you like to sponsor Champ
and be apart of his life?
When you sponsor a horse from us keep in mind that the horse you
sponsor may have been a victim of neglect, abuse, or a
surrender. We work very hard to rescue and rehabilitate our
equine friends in need, but in order to continue to rescue more
horses we need sponsors like you to help pay for rehabilitation
treatments and feed. When becoming a sponsor you are giving an
individual horse a second chance at living a better life!
How Much
Does A Sponsorship Cost?
Sponsoring Fees vary depending on if you want to make a one time
donation or if you would like to contribute on a monthly basis.
By making a monthly contribution you will be sponsoring an
individual horse continually until he is adopted.
*When you sponsor a horse, you can
visit your sponsored horse
*Help feed and care for your
sponsored horse
*Interact with your sponsored
horse
*Groom and maybe even ride your
sponsored horse (management will determine).
